What is the difference between Crystal and Kimbal?
Since 2011, Sinhal Udyog has been manufacturing smart meters under the Crystal brand name. Starting July 25, 2023, Sinhal Udyog Private Limited began manufacturing smart meters under the Kimbal brand name. To align the trade name with the brand, the company changed its name from Sinhal Udyog Private Limited to Kimbal Private Limited, effective November 13, 2024.
Why did you rebrand?
Rebranding is done to establish a unique identity for us that echoes our organizational values and purpose.
What is the meaning of Kimbal?
The name ‘Kimbal’ is formed by conjoining two Sanskrit words, ‘Kim’ + ‘Bal.’ The translation of which is ‘What Great Power!’
How does Kimbal reflect your brand values?
Product reliability is at the core of all we do. As Kimbal, the organization name reflects our core purpose of manufacturing and marketing products with ‘What Great Power!’
Is your new brand name trademarked?
Yes, it is.
What impact will it have on our business with you?
None. We serve you with a new name but with the same commitment to reliability, delivery, and service.
Would your rebranding require any change in our contract or terms of business?
None, whatsoever. Kimbal (formerly Crystal) enters in all business contracts as Kimbal Private Limited (formerly Sinhal Udyog Private Limited). This will continue to remain the same. Hence, asking for no change.
Will there be any impact on product pricing?
The rebranding will not affect our agreed-upon pricing structure. Changes in pricing (if any) are not related to the rebranding. That is purely dependent on changes in the market dynamics.
What about invoices and purchase orders?
All purchase orders and invoices will be raised in the name of Kimbal Private Limited (formerly Sinhal Udyog Private Limited). The former name, “Sinhal Udyog Private Limited,” will continue to be used for a transitional period of two years, until November 12, 2026, without any changes.
Are there any changes in the product certification?
Our products are now marketed under the brand name Kimbal; however, they are very much manufactured by Kimbal Private Limited (formerly Sinhal Udyog Private Limited). Hence, all certifications continue to hold as good and solid as before the rebranding and name change.
Are there any changes in our Point of Contact person or teams?
None. Each of us are here to help you in our best abilities.

Kushal smart meters are made on a uniquely automated assembly line that ensures high product reliability and negligent variability due to reduced manual intervention. Gladly we are sharing with you that our product failure rate is at <0.5%. By introducing automation to our manufacturing system, we are determined to take it further lower and finally arrive at ZERO errors.
