One of the quarter’s key milestones was Kimbal’s partnership with MicroEJ, integrating VEE Energy into Kimbal’s Edge Intelligence platform. This collaboration enables distributed intelligence at the edge of smart meters, a critical step toward next-generation AMI deployments that are more responsive, secure, and scalable.

The quarter also saw Kimbal’s leadership actively shaping industry dialogue. CEO Ayush Sinhal shared insights on India’s smart metering journey on the ThinkSchool podcast, while Kimbal’s Day-0 placements at leading IITs highlighted how energy engineering is emerging as a purpose-driven career path for India’s youth.

At the 9th Distribution Utility Meet (DUM) 2025, Kimbal hosted senior policymakers and industry leaders, including the Hon’ble Power Minister of Maharashtra and the Secretary, Ministry of Power. These discussions reinforced the importance of digitally empowered utilities in achieving long-term sustainability goals.

Kimbal’s leadership team also contributed actively to industry thought leadership through expert sessions and power talks, sharing perspectives on AI-driven smart metering, RDSS-led reforms, and the evolution toward AMI 2.0.

Growth at Scale: Manufacturing, Deployment & Markets

Q3 FY26 marked a major operational milestone as Kimbal crossed 10 million+ smart meters supplied, a testament to robust manufacturing systems and trusted partnerships across the utility ecosystem.

Key growth highlights included:

• Full-scale deployment of Vayu Mesh, Kimbal’s proprietary RF communication IP
• Field rollout of the new Enterprise Head-End System (EHES)
• Expansion into new utility partnerships, including MPMKVVCL, and deregulated meter supply opportunities in Assam
• Ongoing AMI projects across multiple Indian states, strengthening Kimbal’s nationwide footprint.

Operational Excellence & Quality Leadership

At the Kimbal Mega Plant, Q3 saw the production of over 1.1 million smart meters, supported by a strong focus on quality and process excellence. The organization maintained a 99.4% quality rate (4 Sigma level) while launching initiatives such as Quality Month, vendor APQP/PPAP training, and the AI-driven “REC House” quality transformation program.

Leadership training on IMS standards and successful QMS, EMS, and OHSMS certifications further strengthened Kimbal’s readiness for global scale.

Advancing Energy Technology & AMI 2.0

Kimbal continued to invest in future-ready platforms, including:

• An AI-enabled Energy Management System (EMS) with 36,000 MWh traded volume in Q3
• Automated bidding tools for smarter power procurement
• Vaani, a high-performance head-end system built for scalable AMI deployments
• Firmware testing automation (FTA) and an upgraded Network Management System (NMS) that accelerates large-scale rollouts.

These advancements reinforce Kimbal’s vision of building reliable, intelligent tools for the AMI 2.0 era.

People, Culture & Community Impact

Beyond technology and scale, Q3 focused deeply on people. From leadership programs like Arohan and K-Fit to well-being initiatives such as the Prana Series, Kimbal continued nurturing a values-driven, accountable culture.

Under Project Kritya, Kimbal’s CSR efforts advanced education, health, and community well-being through science workshops, donation drives, and festive engagement with local communities.
