We launched Urja by Kimbal, our new business focused on intelligent energy management. Urja combines engineering, AI, and data to help industries monitor, manage, and optimise energy consumption. Strengthening Utility Partnerships Across India

Q1 FY27 saw continued momentum in project execution and customer expansion. Key highlights include:

  • New utility partnerships with APEPDCL and APSPDCL
  • Project commencement for BSES (BRPL and BYPL)

A significant milestone this quarter came with Kimbal securing its first direct government utility order, including the supply of single-phase smart meters for solar metering applications.

Our proprietary Vayu RF Mesh technology continued to power a majority of new deployments, alongside cellular connectivity.

Scaling Manufacturing with Quality and Automation

Our manufacturing operations continued to support India’s growing smart metering ecosystem. Key manufacturing initiatives included:

  • Expanded MES-enabled digital manufacturing
  • Enhanced automation and end-to-end traceability
  • Advanced quality assurance with HV-IR testing, AOI, and LTCT screening
  • Automation of the pre-dispatch inspection process
  • Workforce optimisation across quality operations
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training in collaboration with the Indian Statistical Institute, Pune

We continued expanding the Drishti platform during the quarter. The platform now operates across 13 LHES and 4 EHES environments, providing utilities with real-time operational visibility, live SLA monitoring, intelligent alerts, and automated incident management. Drishti helps utilities respond faster, improve system reliability, and manage large-scale AMI deployments more effectively.
